Job Description The European Centre on Privacy and Cybersecurity (ECPC) is part of the Faculty of Law at Maastricht University. We offer high-level executive education and conduct research in the fields of privacy, data protection and cybersecurity. Our programmes attract professionals from around the world, and we are proud to contribute to safer digital societies.

Your main responsibility is the organisation and facilitation of a broad range of executive education programmes of ECPC, Faculty of Law. As a member of the ECPC team, you will be working closely with our (potential) participants, international clients, trainers, your colleagues and many other stakeholders within and outside Maastricht University.

More in detail, your job will consist of the following key responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate executive education courses and events organised by the ECPC, ensuring smooth and efficient execution from start to finish.
  • Handle financial administration related to programmes and events.
  • Manage all logistical arrangements, such as booking flights, hotels, venues, catering, and related services.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support throughout all phases of event delivery—preparation, execution, and follow-up.
  • Maintain all communications before, during, and after events with all stakeholders, including participants, speakers, service providers, and colleagues.
  • Assist ECPC management with various operational support tasks as needed.
  • Flexibility in working hours is essential, including a willingness to occasionally work outside standard office hours.

Requirements

You’re a proactive organiser who loves variety, takes ownership and keeps a cool head – even when things get busy. You enjoy working in an international team and take pride in making things run seamlessly behind the scenes.

You also bring:

  • A completed degree in higher vocational education (HBO or equivalent);
  • Excellent command of both Dutch and English (spoken and written);
  • Strong communication skills and a service-oriented mindset;
  • Experience in handling administrative tasks and coordinating multiple projects;
  • Good digital skills and attention to detail;
  • A flexible, reliable and hands-on attitude.

What we offer

As Event Organiser at Faculty of Law , you will be employed by the most international university in the Netherlands, located in the beautiful city of Maastricht. In addition, we offer you:

  • Good employment conditions. The position is graded in scale 8 according to UFO profile Management/Office-assistent, with corresponding salary based on experience ranging from €3218,00 and €4298,00 gross per month (based on a full-time employment of 38 hours per week). In addition to the monthly salary, an 8.0% holiday allowance and an 8.3% year-end bonus apply.
  • An employment contract for a period of 12 months with a scope of 0,8 - 1,0 FTE. Upon proven suitability, the employment contract will be converted to an indefinite contract.
  • At Maastricht University, the well-being of our employees is of utmost importance, we offer flexible working hours and the possibility to work partly from home if the nature of your position allows it. You will receive a monthly commuting and internet allowance for this. If you work full-time, you will be entitled to 29 vacation days and 4 additional public holidays per year, namely carnival Monday, carnival Tuesday, Good Friday, and Liberation Day. If you choose to accumulate compensation hours, an additional 12 days will be added. Furthermore, you can personalize your employment conditions through a collective labor agreement (CAO) choice model.

Department

The European Centre on Privacy and Cybersecurity (ECPC), offers executive education programmes as well as an Advanced Master programme. ECPC offers a complete track of regular practice-oriented DPO training and certification courses, a full diploma track on privacy management, conferences and seminars on emerging issues and challenges, as well as new courses on AI. The centre regularly provides in-company trainings for large organisations and is running several long-term contracts with partners globally.
