As a policy advisor, you are part of the FASoS Teaching & Learning Hub, the faculty’s ‘go to place’ for teaching and learning. You are operating in the heart of the faculty. The Teaching & Learning Hub is committed to quality assurance and strategic policy advice, staff professionalization, quality support of programmes, research, educational innovation and offers a platform for relevant experimentation and exploration.

At FASoS, we are constantly working to ensure that our education remains future-focused and of the highest quality. To support this, we are looking for a policy officer who not only brings strong analytical skills, but also knows how to connect people, ideas and developments. Someone who helps shape and implement education policy with an eye for quality, cooperation and innovation.
In this role, you will advise the Faculty Board, programme directors and other faculty bodies, departments and clusters on a wide range of educational topics. You identify relevant national and international developments as well as developments on UM level, translate them into concrete policy proposals and/or strategic advice, and take ownership of key themes such as constructive alignment, participation professional field and internationalization. You will support the re-accreditations and midterms of the faculty. Together with your colleagues you collaborate closely with academic staff, support departments, faculty bodies as well as co-determination parties. Together, you help create a learning organisation in which policy and practice reinforce each other.
Beyond the faculty, you know how to build meaningful connections. You will liaise with colleagues from other faculties and central departments as well as with external parties in the Netherlands.

Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences
The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences FASoS is a close-knit community of approximately 250 staff members and 2100 students. During breaks and before meetings, you can often find us at our favourite local coffee spot Bandito Espresso.
Communication lines within our faculty are short and colleagues are always ready to assist each other. FASoS consists of a highly international student population and a significant part of our staff comes from abroad. Our faculty offers four bachelor programs, eight masters programs including two research master programs that are all characterized by their interdisciplinary approach.
Our research institute studies societies and cultures as they have developed in the modern and contemporary periods. We adopt a radically interdisciplinary approach, analysing the interconnections between Europeanization, globalization, scientific and technological advancement, political change, and cultural innovation.
