Logistic Specialist II | EUDR Case Manager in Maastricht
The organisation
In this role you will be part of the Launch and Certificate Management team.
The goal of the team is to keep our logistics operations running smoothly by proactively tackling compliance-related challenges.
Whenever Mercedes-Benz ships or receives parts, we ensure all legal requirements are met by managing the necessary paperwork. Because obtaining certifications and legal documents can take time, we proactively:
- Identify relevant regulations.
- Match regulations to specific parts.
- Obtain the required documents.
- Manage parts handling accordingly (including blocking orders if necessary).
- Share information and documents with the appropriate teams.
We are also working to automate this entire process to improve efficiency and reduce manual work.
The function
As an EUDR Logistics Trade Compliance Case Manager in our Logistics and Technical department, you will be responsible for ensuring we meet all requirements of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and other trade regulations. Your main tasks include managing cases efficiently and accurately, supporting improvements to our processes, and helping us deliver an excellent experience to our customers and partners.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Ensure up-to-date knowledge of EUDR-related processes, tools, and systems
- Monitor and manage trade compliance cases, ensuring timely resolution and adherence to regulatory deadlines.
- Maintain and improve documentation of compliance workflows and case handling procedures.
- Analyze and report key performance indicators (KPIs) and compliance metrics to management.
- Act as a key contact for internal and external stakeholders across multiple markets.
- Handle escalations professionally and coordinate with relevant supply chain partners.
- Support and lead work packages in strategic compliance and logistics improvement projects.
- Ensure professional communication standards with global business partners.
- Develop an incident and case management to a problem management
- Identify and implement quality and efficiency improvements in compliance processes.
- Maintain oversight of recurring issues and initiate corrective actions or cross-functional communication.
- Respond to ad-hoc compliance requests with speed and accuracy.
- Support the development of processes for new regulatory requirements (e.g., LKSG).
Requirements
- Solid understanding of EUDR and international trade compliance regulations.
- Fluent in English, German and/or additional languages are a plus.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and other Office tools.
- Ability to manage complex cases under high pressure.
- Independent, accountable, and solution-oriented mindset.
- High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Strong customer orientation and quality focus.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel when required.
