We belong to the Mercedes-Benz Global Customer Service & Parts division and we work closely with other departments and divisions to deliver the best customer journey possible. About the team

Customer Care Performance (CCP) plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and strategic development of our global Customer Contact Centers.

The department brings together several core teams, each contributing to the customer experience in a distinct yet connected way. The Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Science (DS) team within CCP acts as the CAC’s central data and analytics engine. We provide end-to-end reporting, analytics, and AI-driven solutions that enable the global steering of the Customer Contact Centers, supporting entities, and the voice of the customer. We translate business needs into data solutions and understand the data needs of the organization.

Through standardized BI and DS products, advanced data models, and strong data governance, we ensure transparency, operational excellence, and insight-driven decision-making across the entire customer care ecosystem.

This role requires a foundational mix of business understanding, analytical thinking, and basic technical skills. As a Consultant, you will support stakeholders across the organization by helping to clarify their needs, translate business questions into simple data requirements, and contribute to the development of meaningful data solutions. You will learn to apply design-thinking principles, build reports or prototypes, and collaborate with senior colleagues to turn data into actionable insights. The role focuses on growing your advisory capabilities and technical expertise while helping the organization make informed, data-driven decisions.

These will be your tasks and responsibilities:

Business Discovery & Strategy Alignment:

  • Support stakeholder discussions by helping identify core business questions and basic data needs.
  • Assist in documenting business requirements for BI and Data Science solutions that deliver clear, useful outcomes.
  • Provide input to prioritization by flagging relevant requests and issues to help maintain the roadmap.


    Solution Design & Development:

    • Help apply user-focused design to create clear, intuitive solutions.
    • Support product quality by aligning BI/DS work with technical and strategic guidelines.
    • Build end-to-end BI solutions including data preparation, modelling, dashboards, and visualizations.
    • Develop and maintain data pipelines, reports, and models following best practices for accuracy, performance, and reusability.


      Stakeholder Collaboration:

      • Collaborate with Product teams, Business Analysts, and other stakeholders to understand objectives, gather requirements, and support the delivery of integrated solutions.
      • Work closely with BI Developers, Data Scientists, DWH Engineers, and Architects by contributing to solution development, asking clarifying questions, and learning established best practices.
      • Support the promotion of a data-driven culture by preparing timely reports, models, dashboards, and insights that help demonstrate the value of existing data assets.
      • Assist in the development and testing of new system functionalities and reporting processes to ensure continuity and accurate output as solutions evolve.


        Users Experience Enhancement:

        • Connect with end-users on dashboard usability, data interpretation needs, and overall analytical experience to improve overall user experience.
        • Evaluate end-to-end usage of solutions to identify friction points, optimize data discovery paths, and enhance user satisfaction, accessibility, and engagement with BI and AI-driven insights.


          This is what we are looking for:Education:

          • Master’s degree (MSc) in Engineering, Statistics & Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science or a related field.


            Experience:

            • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver results.
            • 6–8 years total experience in Data Science, Data Engineering, or Software Engineering
            • 3+ years hands-on in AI / Data Science roles
            • Proven delivery of production-grade AI data products


              Skills:
              • Business acumen & stakeholder understanding – Able to grasp business needs with guidance and translate them into basic analytical questions or solutions requirements.
              • Analytical & problem-solving skills – Capable of interpreting data, performing structured analysis, and contributing to meaningful insights with support from senior colleagues.
              • Technical foundations – Working knowledge of BI tools, data modeling concepts, analytics techniques, and Machine Learning with the ability to document requirements and build simple prototypes or dashboards.
              • Communication & storytelling – Communicates findings clearly and concisely, adapting explanations for non-technical audiences with coaching.
              • Collaboration & facilitation – Works effectively within cross-functional teams, contributing to workshops or solution discussions and learning how to facilitate small parts of the process.
              • Workload Management – Able to coordinate tasks with teammates, manage assigned work, and align on priorities with support when needed.


                Technical knowledge:
                • Experience working with LLM-based NLP use cases, such as text classification, summarization, and information extraction, applying these techniques in real projects under senior guidance.
                • Hands-on experience using Azure Databricks, developing and running notebooks and jobs, and transforming data with PySpark and Spark SQL in distributed environments.
                • Practical experience with data ingestion and preparation, pulling data from files and APIs, handling structured and semi-structured data, and performing basic data quality and parsing checks.
                • Exposure to the Azure data and AI ecosystem, with an understanding of how storage, data pipelines, and AI/LLM components fit together in end-to-end workflows.
                • Professional experience writing clean, maintainable Python code, organizing logic into reusable modules, and collaborating via Git/GitHub (branches, pull requests, code reviews).
                • Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot) to improve development speed while following team standards for code quality and security.
