Administrative (& Stewardship) Officer in Maastricht

Join Our Global Community at UWC Maastricht

UWC Maastricht is more than a school: it is a vibrant international community where students from over 100 nationalities come together to learn, grow and make a difference. As part of the global UWC movement, with 18 schools worldwide, we use education as a force for peace and a sustainable future. From age 4 to 19, students experience a truly international environment where diversity is celebrated and learning goes beyond the classroom.

If you are passionate about meaningful work in a mission-driven setting: this could be your opportunity.

Please note: due to immigration regulations, this role requires an EU passport.

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly organised and motivated Administrative & Stewardship Officer to join our Advancement Team. This team is responsible for donor engagement, fundraising and strengthening our diverse community. At UWC Maastricht, we bring together students from all backgrounds, regardless of financial means, and your work will help make that possible.

In this role, you will focus on administrative processes, data management and stewardship activities. You will support fundraising efforts, help organise events and ensure that our supporters feel connected and appreciated.

If you want to contribute to a global mission through precise and purposeful work: we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fundraising & Donor Relations.
  • Maintain accurate donor and alumni records in the CRM system.
  • Coordinate with the Finance Team for donation processing and reporting.
  • Support donor engagement: meeting preparation, personalised communication and follow-up.
  • Assist with fundraising campaigns, donor mailings and research for grant proposals.
  • Event Support.
  • Organise and support events such as donor visits and community initiatives.
  • Manage logistics: including invitations, venue bookings and materials.
  • Handle post-event tasks: collecting feedback and updating relevant records.
  • Collect basic data to identify potential donors, sponsors, and grant opportunities.

What We’re Looking For

Working at UWC Maastricht means embracing our mission to make education a force for peace and a sustainable future. We expect all staff members to embody our core values: international and cultural understanding, celebration of diversity, personal responsibility and integrity, mutual respect, compassion and service, respect for the environment, a sense of idealism, personal challenge and growth, and taking action by leading through example.

For this role, we are looking for someone who brings the following:

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and working with databases.
  • A proactive, flexible and collaborative approach: a true team player.
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills (Dutch is a plus).

Preferred:

  • Experience working with CRM systems.
  • Experience in event planning or coordination.

What We Offer

  • A near full-time position: 0.5 FTE (approximately 20 hours per week)
  • A generous number of vacation days
  • The option to work from home one day per week: to be agreed within the team, as we believe in a healthy work-life balance while staying connected and collaborative
  • A competitive salary based on scale 6, being between € 2554,- and € 3451,- based on experience and a fulltime contract. This is complemented by a strong benefits package
  • Participation in the school’s pension scheme via the ABP Pension Fund and, if applicable, support with the 30% Facility for Incoming Employees with the Dutch Tax Authorities
  • Training and professional development opportunities: we deeply value learning and encourage our staff to keep growing, because when you grow, our whole community benefits
  • A close-knit Advancement Team of four who value both hard work and personal connection

Safeguarding

Student wellbeing is our top priority. We are committed to the highest standards of safeguarding and will conduct thorough reference checks with current and former employers, as well as recent police checks, before finalising any appointment.

All staff must be eligible to obtain a Dutch Certificate of Conduct (VOG). UWC Maastricht will support you in the application process.
