We are seeking an experienced Customs Specialist to oversee our customs and inbound shipments operations, ensuring seamless daily execution and full compliance with country-specific regulations across the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. In this role, you contribute to our logistics strategy, optimize systems and processes, and maintain a strong focus on safety, quality and operational excellence.

Your accountabilities

• Organize and manage the customs and inbound shipment department in line with the overall logistics policy
• Ensure country-specific customs requirements are known, understood and complied with
• Contribute to execution of the unit’s logistics strategy as part of the logistics team
• Develop and implement optimized and advanced logistics systems and procedures
• Ensure the SHEQ management system is applied and maintained
• Monitor and manage departmental budgets and report periodically
• Maintain strong HR structures and foster a productive working climate aligned with Envalior’s values

Key responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate filing of import and export declarations
• Manage quarterly reporting to customs authorities in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany
• Own customs-related master data fields in SAP and SAP GTS and safeguard data integrity
• Maintain and update the customs manual and risk matrix
• Arrange inbound transportation safely, timely and cost-effectively in collaboration with European call-off teams
• Coordinate inter-plant transport movements
• Maintain strong communication with customs authorities
• Minimize demurrage, detention and inbound-related transport costs
• Optimize inbound lead times, flows, cost efficiency and transport modalities
• Align early with buyers, call-off teams and carriers to ensure smooth customs and logistics processes

Your profile

• 4–8 years of experience in customs operations and logistics
• Proven experience in filing import and export declarations
• Experience with SAP / SAP GTS is an advantage
• Certified to file import/export declarations in Germany, Belgium and/or the Netherlands
• Extensive knowledge of European customs legislation
• Strong understanding of risks related to import and export transactions
• Solid transport background with a clear customer-focused mindset
