Your challenge as Financial Controller
Recently the Océ Finance function has set off a transformation process towards a global cross site functional organization. A changing organization creates an exciting new opportunity for an ambitious, team-, business- and internationally oriented Financial Controller. In this role you are challenged to successfully drive financial operations, realizing business goals, and (process) changes.
You are part of the Financial Accounting and Control team (about 10 professionals) and are the representative of this team towards the internal finance organization. With your drive and skills, you build a strong relationship with your stakeholders, think customer first, enjoy continuous learning and adapt to change readily.
For our location in the Netherlands, you are responsible for the R&D processes ensuring accurate bookkeeping of concerning business processes. You act as a business partner by liaising and engaging with key business stakeholders throughout the organization and team up with other controllers. You actively pursue feedback and take action to meet and manage expectations, as well as pro-actively providing advice to (senior) management.
In addition, you provide and manage timely month-end closing and availability of internal management reporting towards the organization, including first line analytical reviews of the monthly performance and periodic updates regarding subsidy programs. Thereby you support the monthly business closing forecast and periodical budget processes. Furthermore you participate in globalization and alignment projects.
Effective and efficient operations and management systems are crucial in your operation. Therefore you drive quality and efficiency improvements for your (process) areas by pro-actively initiating and participating in cross functional end-to-end process improvement initiatives. To ensure financial data integrity (primarily SAP-FI/PS) you actively monitor and execute (system) controls.
This position is based in Venlo, the Netherlands. You report to the team lead Financial Control, being part of the Financial Accounting & Control department.

Furthermore you meet the following criteria:
Bachelor in Finance & Accounting (preferably with experience in accountancy)
1-5 years relevant experience, in an international environment is pre
Knowledge of a R&D process is a pre
Knowledge of subsidy controlling, legislation and a single end-to-end R2R process
Advanced experience in MS Excel
Knowledge of SAP R3 (FI, CO, PS) and SAP BW or a similar Financial software product
Knowledge of TM1/ Perspectives is a pre
Knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS and the ability to apply these is a pre
Self-starter with strong organization and prioritization skills
Result oriented and service minded towards business
Monitoring progress with strong analytical skills
Ability to work under pressure
Strives for continuous improvement
Team player with good communication skills
