Limburg in Europe
Limburg is situated in the heart of the most important metropolitan area in Europe.
There is great economic, social, cultural and knowledge potential here. Limburg is also located centrally with regard to important regions such as London, Paris, the Randstad, the Flemish Diamond, the German Rhine/Ruhr Area and Frankfurt.
The intense infrastructure network that is abundant in the area sees to it that these regions are easy to reach with a number of different means of transport. Because of this, Limburg is an important connector between the mainports Schiphol, Rotterdam, Antwerp and the European hinterlands.
Investment and Opportunities
The EU is investing strongly in border regions for the purpose of bringing about a strong and united Europe. Tangible cross-border projects are being supported in these Euregions. Limburg makes up part of the following Euregions:
• Euregio Maas-Rijn (Euregion Meuse-Rhine)
• Euregio Rijn-Maas Noord (Euregion Rhine-Meuse-North)
• Euregio Rijn-Waal (Euregion Rhine-Waal)
• Euregio Benelux Middengebied (Euregion Central Benelux Area)
Besides this division of Euregions, the province of Limburg also is part of other cross-border cooperations:
• Limburg belongs to the Eindhoven-Aachen-Leuven 'technology triangle'. This area is also called the Technological Top Region (TTR).
• South Limburg belongs to the cross-border urban network Maastricht-Aachen-Hasselt-Heerlen-Liège (MAHHL).
• North Limburg belongs to the Brabant City-Venlo-Rhine/Ruhr Area network. This area is also being developed extensively.
International career opportunities
Real careerists can also seize international opportunities in Limburg. An international career in a pleasant living climate is within reach because of the advantageous location of Limburg in Europe.
Wat would you think of a career in, for example:
• The EU's capital Brussels
• The logistics metropolis Antwerp
• The advertising and fashion city Düsseldorf
• Germany's media capital Cologne
The possibility of having a cross-border career can be combined with the advantages of a relatively peaceful and, in part, still open area which has cross-border environmental qualities (nature, landscape, recreation and tourism).
