Public Transport
From Maastricht Train Station you can be in the heart of Brussels in little over an hour and in under 3 hours in Paris, and in little over 3 hours in London. That's how it goes. Comfortable and fast. This is possible because Limburg is connected to the network of Thalys and that of Eurostar, thanks to the Maastricht-Brussel Express The Express leaves every working day from Maastricht to Brussels at 6am up until 7pm. There is a different schedule during the weekends.

To the "Capital of Taste" in 26 minutes
The future Light Rail Maastricht – Hasselt reduces travel time to 26 minutes. This gains 35 minutes, also because of its connection to the Belgian bus network. The connection Maastricht – Lanaken – Diepenbeek – Hasselt will be opened completely by the end of 2010 or the beginning of 2011. This means that every 30 minutes a Light Rail leaves from Maastricht to the town centre where there are lots of restaurants and trendy clothes stores.
South Limburg Light Rail Becomes Reality
Within a couple of years, Maastricht will be connected to a new Light Rail connection. Eventually the South Limburg Light Rail (Maastricht – Heerlen - Kerkrade) will be connected to a expanding Light Rail network in the Aachen region. It is also possible to establish a shuttle connection to Liège and her new TGV station.
