Mobility
Middle of the Euregion and Free of Traffic-jams!
Limburg is free of traffic-jams. Of course, traffic is busier during rush hour than it is in the middle of the day, but extreme traffic is virtually unknown in Limburg. Does your heart start racing every time you have to drive 10 kilometres to your work in the Randstad? Not to worry, this will not happen in Limburg. When after ten smooth kilometres your satnav says "you have arrived at your destination", you won't have any problems at all finding parking space.
Crossroad of Connections
Limburg is the crossroad of European main connections. Highways such as the A2, A67, and the A77 and the busy railway lines between West Holland, the Rhine/Ruhr area and Central Europe go through Limburg. The river Maas en the Julianakanaal give inland shipping access to the big European waterways.
Class in Geography
The border between Limburg and Germany stretches over a length of 195 kilometres. The west border and part of the south border of the province is also the border with Flanders over a length of 130 kilometres. In the south lies Wallonia. In the north, Limburg borders on the provinces Brabant en for a small part on Gelderland.
From north to south, Limburg lies along the river Maas, over a length of 160 kilometres. The river, which forms a direct connection with the harbour area of Rotterdam, has always played an import role in the economic history of Limburg.
